Who I am

I'm Ken Muse and I've always been drawn to create new things and explore new ideas. It's a passion. It's who I am as much as it is what I do. I love the challenge of trying to find new ways to accomplish the impossible.

What I do

I develop. I teach. I inspire. I identify new possibilities and overcome obstacles.

I have extensive experience working in the cloud and have been part of the Azure Advisor program with Microsoft for the last 4 years. During this time, I helped create hybrid infrastructures that combine the best features of both the public cloud and private infrastructure. I believe that languages and platforms are tools that achieve these goals. As a result, I work fluently with Java, .NET, C#, ECMAScript, HTML, IIS, NGINX, SQL Server, Oracle, Cassandra, Lucene, and numerous other technologies. In 2011, I applied for a patent for a system that utilized several of these technolgies to help revolutionize energy analysis. The resulting software is still used today in the lighting industry by Cree, Philips Lighting, Rexel, and many others.

I have additional specialties in cloud architectures, web security analysis, accessibility (especially WCAG 2.0, and Section 508 compliance), and globalization/internationalization of software systems and components. I have fully supported 14 countries around the world, including China, Russia, France, Germany, and Saudi Arabia. This included developing an understanding of the cultural and legal obligations for each of these regions.

Where I am

I'm one of the few people in Atlanta that was actually born in the city. While I enjoy travel to cities around the world, I'm proud to be able to call this one my home. During my career, I've been able to enjoy trips to India, Canada, France, Germany, Switzerland, and Australia. It's always amazing to have an opportunity to experience other cultures and appreciate other viewpoints from people and communities around the world.
